Less Hustle and Chaos
"I think the older our kids get and the more we add to our family, the desire gets deeper to experience a more meaningful and traditional Christmas. Yes, we all love the decor, the presents, trees, etc. but last year we decided to do our best to make this season about family, and more importantly Jesus. Recently we got rid of every toy in the house except for one trunk with toys everyone can share. I hate clutter and unnecessary toys and we always try to encourage the kids to use their imaginations and desire less "stuff" and more interactive play. So this year we are continuing our "Giving Manger" tradition and it is one of my absolute favorites that goes along with our advent activities. The kids beg for the manger to come out every year and it's such a good way to do more giving and less taking. Our kids know this year they get two things as "gifts" but that the real story is in the redemption of Jesus Christ as our Savior. Less hustle and chaos and a more meaningful and faithful Christmas is our ultimate goal this year. The Giving Manger is a perfect, faith based activity for kids of all ages." - @nikkichubb
